Homegrown Habitat

Homegrown Habitat in Highland Park was inspired by Doug Tallamy’s research on the importance of native plants in correcting the insect and bird decline caused by the disruption of the natural ecosystem.

We’d love to have you join us! Click here to sign up to receive emails about native plants in Highland Park and beyond, ways to get involved and volunteer, and more.

Watch the Southern Exposure Film, Alabama Roots, and see the Highland Park Neighborhood featured as a great example of a community coming together to turn the medians into native plant habitats!

A huge shout out and special thank you to Laney DeJonge, Lea Ann Macknally, Michelle Reynolds, Stanley Robinson, and neighborhood darling ROJO for leading the Highland Park median project.

Donate to help Friends of Highland Park* turn more medians into native plant landscapes across our neighborhood! Send your donations via Venmo to @FriendsofHighlandPark

*Friends of Highland Park is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization, and is not a part of the Highland Park Neighborhood Association
